California 4-Star JUCO Defensive End Josh Allen Dishes on Recruitment, Boise State

I caught up with Boise State 4* DE target Josh Allen on Tuesday. The 6’4″, 250lb Strong Side Defensive End from Long Beach City College took time out of his evening to dish on a variety of interesting topics for the Bronco Nation faithful.

You recently de-committed from the University of Arizona, care to elaborate on that?

Josh Allen: “I de-committed a month or two ago, even thought I’m still talking to Arizona, I felt like I rushed into things.”

Last time we spoke you had offers from Boise State, Arizona State, San Diego State, Colorado State, and Fresno State, what offers have you picked up since then?

JA: “I picked up quite a few actually, I picked up Miami recently, Alabama, Syracuse, Iowa State, South Alabama, Louisville, San Jose State.” Josh holds 16 offers presently.

What schools are recruiting you the hardest right now and which ones are you most interested in?

JA: “Miami, UCLA, and Arizona.”

How are you feeing about Boise State right now?

JA: “I’m feeling good about Boise State, I talked to Caldwell the other day… he was asking me about my grades and I what I was thinking for my next move, he asked me if I wanted to take another visit but I already visited the whole school and campus and everything.”

Are you still considering Boise State?

JA: “Yes Sir.”

What were your thoughts on Boise State’s season?

JA: “I feel like they had an average season, they look young, the defense looked very good, their line and linebackers and everything.”

What is your relationship like with defensive line coach Steve Caldwell?

JA: “We have a good relationship, he’s a great guy, a good dude, and a great coach.”

Are you still in touch with any of the Boise State players?

JA: “Yeah, my good friend Raymond Ford is on the team, Alec Dhaenens, and also AJ Richardson, number 28. I don’t talk to them all the time, but I just talked to them about this season.”

When are you expecting to narrow down your top schools again?

JA: “I start in February so after I take all my visits I will just narrow it down and go from there.”

When are you expecting to make a commitment?

JA: “February.”

What do you think about Boise State’s chances of landing a commitment from you?

JA: “I’m not sure right now, I haven’t taken any of my visits but they are a good school, I like the school.”
