JUCO DB Michael Young looks to make immediate impact for Boise State

6-foot, 207lbs Dodge City Community College (Kansas) defensive back Michael Young singed with the Boise State football program exactly 7 weeks ago as part of the Broncos’ 2017 recruiting class.

As the majority of Boise State’s 2017 recruitng class becomes official today, BroncoNationNews.com will take a look back at what this big-time Bronco-pledge had to say after committing this past summer.

Young said he knew Boise State was the school for him after forming a bond with defensive back’s coach Ashley Ambrose. “He was being honest with me and I just talked with him the most out of all my coaches… he was just honest with me.” He also said he has a good relationship with safeties’ coach Gabe Franklin.

“I like that (Boise State has) five DB’s,” Young said, “they mix it up and run a little bit of everything. I like what they run.” Young added that he plans on playing cornerback at Boise State but that he “can move around and play whatever coach wants me to play.”

“I just want to come there and make plays and make a name for myself.”

When he committed, Young said that Boise State was on his mind the most of any school that he was considering, “it’s the school that I think I will be most comfortable with.”

He finish last season with 77 total tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, five pass break-ups, and two forced fumbles according to 247Sports.

Minutes after committing Young had one last message for Bronco Nation before he got off the phone:

“Go Broncos!”
