Phoenix, AZ Wideout John Okwoli dishes on his recruitment, Boise State

Phoenix, AZ wide receiver John Okwoli took some time out of his Wednesday evening to dish to the Bronco Nation faithful on his recruitment and more. Okwoli is scheduled to take his official visit to Boise State on January 22nd.

How are you feeling about the Boise State offer?

John Okwoli: “I’ve felt good about it ever since they extended back in May. They have a tradition of winning there, and it’s a good place where a player like myself can succeed and be really good at the wide receiver position.”

When do you expect to narrow your offers down or make a commitment?

JO: “I expect to do that after I’ve taken all my visits, depending on if Boise is my last visit after that.”

What NFL player do you try to model your game after?

JO: “…I really don’t model myself after any one player. I just watch all the top wide receivers in the league and try to take some things from each one and try to incorporate it in my game… I watch things, I study, I take things in and try things out that I’ve seen from other players and try to put my own spin on things that make me a play-maker.”

What would it mean to you to be a Bronco?

JO: “It would mean a lot to me. I just like the style and swag that they come out with for every game. And their winning percentage speaks for itself. I can’t wait to get up there and see how everything is.”

What is your relationship with Coach Adams and Coach Harsin like?

JO: “Coach Adams is great. I can relate to him on many things, especially in the recruiting process. I’ve only talked to Coach Harsin once, and from talking to him I can tell he’s a good coach and good person as well.”

Why #10?

JO: “#10 has just been a number that’s stuck with me for a very long time. It’s just more than just a number.”

What do you think are the chances of Boise State landing a commitment from you right now?

JO: “Boise has a solid chance of enticing me to commit there. I’m just gonna continue to look forward to visiting and seeing what they have to offer.”
