2010: No. 3 Boise State defeats No. 10 Virginia Tech in dramatic fashion

In Boise State’s most anticipated season opener ever, the Broncos didn’t disappoint. Shortly after¬†Boise State’s second Fiesta Bowl victory, even the most casual fan had this game circled on their calendar.

With the Broncos returning practically every starter from the previous year, the Broncos looked as a legitimate contender to play in the National Championship.

After starting the game firing on all cylinders, VA Tech QB Tyrod Taylor made a valiant effort to bring the Hokies back. Even leading the Hokies up 2 with under 8 minutes remaining in the game.

With ice running through his veins, Kellen Moore threw a touchdown pass to one of his favorite targets, Austin Pettis, which put the Broncos up top with 1:09 remaining in the game.
