Boise State Basketball receives a vote in Coaches Poll

Leon Rice & Co. have had a great start to the 2017-2018 campaign for the Boise State Basketball program.

Defeating the likes of Oregon, and making it to the championship game of the Puerto Rico Tip-off against Iowa State. Boise State could have possibly been at 9-0 this season if it hadn’t been for an injury to Chandler Hutchison in that championship game against the Cyclones.

With the Broncos impressive record of 8-1 on the season, they are starting to gain some national attention thanks to the buzzer beater from Lexus Williams against Oregon in Eugene.

On Monday, the Top 25 polls came out, and Boise State is listed as one of the teams receiving vote(s) in the Coaches Poll. It’s only one vote, but the Broncos could find themselves in the Top 25 in the coming weeks with wins against quality opponents in Grand Canyon and SMU.

Currently, there is only one MWC team that is ranked in the Top 25 in both the AP and Coaches Poll, Nevada. No. 22 in AP and No. 24 in Coaches Poll. San Diego State is also recieving votes in the Coaches poll.

Other Notes

– Chandler Hutchison recorded the first known triple-double in program history on Sunday against Portland.

– Leon Rice reaches 150 career wins at the helm of the Broncos.

– Boise State has hit 107 3-pointers this season, good for 5th in the nation.
