Boise State gets commitment from RB Alexander Mattison

Just one day after Arkansas running back Damarea Crockett de-commited from the Broncos, Bryan Harsin & Co. found a solid replacement to the backfield in Alexander Mattison of San Bernadino High School out of California.

The record setting running back had offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Colorado State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Washington and Washington State.

One of Mattison’s greatest traits happens to be off the field. He emphasizes the word student in student athlete, posting a 4.8 GPA.

Throw on the tape of Mattison and he impresses with agility, quickness and power.

“I’d like to get faster than all my opponents… Also get stronger. I think that’s going to play a key role in my success,” said Mattison.

What may be more impressive is the numbers he posted his junior and senior year of high school. Both 2,000+ yard rushing campaigns.

Grade Carries Yds Avg. Y/G TD
Senior 151 2057 13.6 205.7 22
Junior 161 2017 12.5 201.7 26
Sophomore 72 492 6.8 49.2 5

“Alex Mattison is a team player, a weight room guy, everything you want in a football player. His character is great, he’s about team. He can run, he can block, he can do whatever you want on the field to get it done for your team,” said Mattison’s coach.

Here is a complete list of Boise State’s 2016 Football Commits.
