For the fifth time since 2010, the Boise State Broncos will be playing in the Las Vegas Bowl. And the opponent will be a familiar one.
Bowl announcements were made on Sunday and, as speculation turned out to be true, the Broncos will be facing former head coach Chris Petersen and the Washington Huskies.

It will be the first matchup between the Broncos and the Huskies since 2015, when Boise State defeated Washington 16-13 on the blue.
The two teams also met in the 2012 Las Vegas Bowl, a 28-26 Broncos victory.
Boise State and Washington have played each other four times, with each program sitting with two wins apiece. Added intrigue for this game? Petersen recently announced he’s stepping down and it will be his final game as head coach of the Huskies.
At 12-1, the Broncos ended up ranked number 19 in the final College Football Playoff rankings. This was two spots behind the Memphis Tigers, who defeated Cincinnati on Saturday to win the AAC. Memphis will face the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Cotton Bowl.
Washington is 7-5 and was 4-5 in the Pac-12 in 2019. The Huskies lost three out of their last five games.
The two teams did share a couple of opponents. Washington defeated Hawai’i 52-20 and BYU 45-19.
The Broncos are 4-0 in Vegas Bowl games, last playing in 2017, where Boise State defeated Oregon 38-28. Victories have also been picked up over Utah (2010) and Arizona State (2011).
The Las Vegas Bowl will take place at Sam Boyd Stadium on December 21, 2019. Kickoff is slated for 5:30 pm (MT).
