Boise State to play in the First Responder Bowl vs Boston College

For the 17th straight season, the Boise State Broncos will be bowling.

Projections had Boise landing anywhere from the Armed Forces Bowl, Potato Bowl, New Mexico Bowl or the Cheez-It Bowl.

The projections were mixed especially after the Broncos lost in the Mountain West Conference Championship to Fresno State. Before the MWC Championship game, most of the projections were pointing towards Vegas.

On Sunday afternoon, Bronco Nation found that their beloved Broncos will be bowling in the First Responder Bowl against Boston College.

The game will be played on December 26th at 11:30AM MT. in the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Boise State is 10-6 in bowl games since 2002. 12-6 all-time dating back to 1999. Last season they defeated the Oregon Ducks in the Las Vegas Bowl, 38-28.

The Broncos finished the regular season at 10-3. Boston College who finished 7-5 this season defeated the Broncos back in 2005 in the MPC Computers Bowl.

It is the only game where the two schools faced each other.

Other Notes

Since Harsin took over in 2014, Boise State has defeated a Power 5 school every season. This will be Boise State’s last chance to have a win over a Power 5 school this season.
