More and more bowl projections are coming out and the Broncos are projected to face off against Central Michigan, North Texas, Idaho in projections given by CBS Sports, SB Nation and NBC Sports.
Neither of those opponents bring any sort of excitement.
With the Pac 12 not having enough bowl eligible teams, it leaves a void to fill in both the Las Vegas Bowl and the Catcus Bowl. It’s all up in the air as of who the Broncos could play in the weeks to come.
Projected by Fox Sports’ Stewart Mandel, he has the Broncos bowling in Las Vegas against SEC member Mississippi State. His projection of the Boise State – Mississippi State is based on the Bulldogs Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores.
Mississippi State could accept or decline the bowl invitation. Missouri had a similar situation last season as they went 5-7 but declined the invite to play.
Mississippi State is 5-7 but bowl-bound — and suddenly very popular. Bulldogs to Vegas? https://t.co/dg2S6UFhnq

Nebraska, Minnesota and San Jose State who all finished 5-7 in the regular season went to a bowl game last season.
Excerpt via Fox Sports:
“A rash of upsets on Rivalry Weekend shook up several conferences’ bowl lineups and assured at least three sub-.500 teams will play in bowl games. Mississippi State, 5-7, went from spending the holidays at home to a possible Vegas trip.”
Boise State is currently 1-5 against the Southeastern Conference. Their lone victory was against Georgia in 2011.
