Boise State’s active bowl streak is among CFB elites

The ascension of Boise State football is quite amazing when you consider how long the Broncos have been playing football in the Division I-A/FBS era.

Before the Broncos entered the Division I-A rankings, Boise State was in the Big Sky Conference for 26 years. In 1996, the school made the move to the Big West Conference.

Make that 20 years the Broncos have played at the highest level of college football. During that time Boise state has had a successful bowl history.

Much so that the Broncos rate amongst college football elites in active FBS bowl apperances. Including four schools Boise State has faced in the past.

Virginia Tech, Georgia, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.

The Broncos are 3-2 against the schools among the list.

  • Virginia Tech (1-0)
  • Georgia (1-1)
  • Oklahoma (1-0)
  • Wisconsin (0-1)

Boise State is currently 11-5 in their young bowl history.

Bryan Harsin & Co. will be looking to extend their current bowl win streak to 3 against Baylor in the Cactus Bowl, as well as their 3rd victory against a Power 5 Conference this season.
