Mid-week road games are always a challenge in the Mountain West. In their last mid-week road conference game, The Broncos ran away with one against the Wyoming Cowboys. This started an undefeated conference mark that saw the Broncos go 3-0.
After a tough last second loss to Nevada, the Broncos have now lost their last three games. The Broncos lost on the road in Colorado Springs, Colorado, falling to the Air Force Falcons 74-60.
The story of the night may have been rebounding. For a team that boasts one of the tallest rosters in the conference, it may be surprising to see the Broncos get out rebounded 41 to 22.
Derrick Alston
Nevertheless, there was a positive element to the Air Force loss.
Once again, sophomore Derrick Alston lead the team in scoring. After achieving a career high 30 points against San Diego State at the beginning of the month, Alston chipped in 24 points against Air Force. He also lead all scorers, edging out Air Force forward Lavelle Scottie who had 22 points for the Falcons.
Last season the young sophomore saw very little action. This season Alston has either provided a spark off the bench, or been inserted into the starting lineup.
#BoiseState sophomore Derrick Alston has definitely provided a spark off the bench at time this year, however, he’s started the last two game.
The production of the bench since that move:
