Broncos Land JUCO D-Back, Jonathan Earl

The Broncos have another recruit to add to the class of 2020. He is JUCO transfer, Jonathan Earl.

Jonathan played two years at Golden West College. His first year as a wide receiver and his second as a safety. Boise recruited him as a defensive back.

Last year he was all-conference as a corner. He had 31 solo tackles and 2 INTs.

Jonathan is 6’3” and 190. He runs the 40 in 4.6. He played high school football at Cox Mill High School in Concord, NC.

Boise has had a need for taller defenders in the secondary. Increasingly, they have faced taller receivers in the last few seasons.

Earl is the sixth defensive back added to the Bronco roster this year. Depending on how you count, there are about 16 defensive backs presently on the Bronco roster.

His college coach, Nick Mitchell, said, “The pride of Cox Mill HS. Earl knows the meaning of hard work more than most. Straight to work after practice, off at 2am, bed and back to school. Never late or missed. Dedicated, motivated, never b*****d or complained. Rare breed. Boise State is lucky to have him. So we’re we.”

Jonathan, welcome to the Blue. May there be many pick-sixes in your future.
