Deandre Pierce breaks his silence, commits to Boise State

Boise State landed a commitment from Long Beach, CA defensive back De’Andre Pierce late Monday evening. The corner originally silently committed back in September but called me tonight after breaking that silence online by changing his Twitter bio.

I asked De’Andre about no longer choosing to remain silent, ” I’m not that kind of guy. I told the coaches, I didn’t think it was anybody else’s business.”

When I asked the Broncos newest commit what Boise State player he tries to model his game after he responded: “I would probably have to say Donte Deayon. I didn’t know much about the team until I got the offer in the summer, (Donte’s) tenacious which is what I love.”

Winning is very important to De’Andre: “It’s everything, looking at that team in the last decade they’re the highest winning team since 2000, my high school, Long Beach Poly, all we do is win, to be able to do it at the next level is even better for me.”

The California product said his team goal is “without a doubt to go undefeated and win the MWC,” “I just want to play in a New Years Six bowl all four years.”

Pierce has a great relationship with the Boise State coaches, “I talk to Harsin every Monday through Twitter… I try to talk to him twice a week, every week.”

De’Andre says he will report to school the first week of July and tries to model his game after Josh Norman, “… the corner for the Carolina Panthers, he’s dominating every matchup…I would say Josh Norman is the best corner in the NFL right now.”

Pierce is high school teammates with fellow Boise State commit Emmanuel Fesili.
