Boise State’s LB corp increased in size this off season with the addition of defensive back Desmond Williams.
The 6 foot, 190 pound Williams comes to the Broncos from high school football powerhouse Centennial High School in Corona, California. Centennial is currently ranked 2nd in the nation.
Williams is currently rated as a 3 star recruit by 247Sports.
Williams received his offer from Boise State in May, and was offered by Washington State shortly after. Although Williams has yet to step on campus, he was comfortable giving the coaches his verbal commitment after talking it over with his parents.
“The coaches at Boise State contacted me the most, and my parents had really good conversations with the coaches, and felt comfortable with me committing to Boise even though I haven’t visited yet.”
On why he chose Boise State:
“I felt like it was a great opportunity that I couldn’t let pass up, I just felt the love from the coaches. Both of my parents really had good conversations with Coach Harsin and some other coaches as well… Me and my family just felt comfortable with the commitment.
In his junior and senior year, Williams recorded 127 total tackles with 51 of them being solo. Williams was racking up 6 tackles a game for Centennial. The high school senior also had 2 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries.
