In Bryan Harsin’s press conference Monday, coach announced that Boise State’s sophomore safety Dylan-Sumner Gardner broke a bone in his ankle against Virginia with 4:16 left in the first half. Coach Harsin said that he will be having surgery today, Monday September 28th.
Although there was no timeframe set for DSG’s return, Boise State fans may be looking something similar to Ryan Finley’s situation. Finley’s timeframe is about 8 weeks.
Dylan Sumner-Gardner isn't eligible for a hardship redshirt, Harsin confirmed. Played one game too many. But he's expected back anyway

Filling in nicely at that position was JC transfer Kam Miles, who had a forced fumble as well as a pass breakup in the end zone on a crucial fourth down in the 3rd quarter Friday evening.
DSG finished the game with 2 total tackles, while Miles finished with 2 total tackles as well.
“The play he(Miles) made in the end zone, that’s a play he has been waiting to make,” said coach Bryan Harsin. “It’s his time to step up..”
Miles came to Boise State in 2014, and was a member of Scout.com’s Juco Top 100.
In 2013, Miles attended Texas A&M and redshirted for Boise State’s current defensive coordinator Marcel Yates.
