Within two days the Broncos announced the promotion of Eric Kiesau as the new offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach and Matt Miller hired to fill Kiesau’s former position as the wide receiver coach.
What concerned many a few days ago has turned out quite nicely.
Kiesau: Experience And Stability
Eric brings a lot of offensive experience to the program. He has served as an OC in other programs.
Eric is one of the more experienced offensive coordinators the Broncos have ever hired. Before Boise, he coached at Fresno, Washington, Kansas, California, Colorado, Alabama, and Utah State.
Eric stated he wants to remain in Boise. Thus there is little fear of a one and done type of offensive coordinator. This will create better continuity and a much needed stabilizing effect on the offensive side of the ball.
Welcome Home Miller
Matt Miller needs no introduction to Boise State fans. Arguably, one of the GOAT Bronco wide receivers. He owns many of the Broncos receiving records.
Matt Miller’s ascendancy up the coaching ladder has been impressive. He started his career as a graduate assistant at Boise State in 2015. He was a position coach at Montana State until the mid-2018 season when he became the offensive coordinator. Last season he was quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator.
Miller will inherit a fine group of wide receivers.
Miller and Kiesau, Can’t Wait Til Next Fall
Overall this appears to be a good outcome to what appeared to be a problem only days ago.
With the promotions of Kiesau and the addition of Miller, the Broncos are poised offensively for some dynamic and exciting football next year. The only position remaining open is the running backs coach.
That means next year is going to be fun.
