Louisiana Lafayette game provides revenge for BSU Staff

Losses always linger with us much longer than wins. In Coach Bryan Harsin’s first year of being a head coach at Arkansas State, his only home loss came at the hands at Louisiana-Lafayette last season, 23-7.  Louisiana-Lafayette would go on to share the Sun Belt Conference Championship with Arkansas State.

Sharing Coach Harsin’s pain from last season are a number of the current members from the Bronco football staff, including: Eliah Drinkwitz (tight ends), Kent Riddle (associate head coach, running backs, and special teams), Steve Caldwell (assistant head coach and defensive line), Julius Brown (secondary), Jeff Pitman (strength and conditioning), Thomas Byrd (offensive graduate assistant), Brian Wilkinson (director of football operations), and Antwon Murray (assistant director or player personal).

Harsin did acknowledge that he lost to a ‘very good football team’ last season, and that he had some familiarity with the opponent. Although the loss lingers, he doesn’t dwell on past. Louisiana-Lafayette was predicted to be the Sun Belt Champion this season, and will bring a squad reeling from 2 straight losses including a drubbing from Boise State’s first opponent this season, Ole Miss, 56-15.
