Boise State has just landed its ninth class of 2019 commit and first on the defensive side of the ball. It is Michael Callahan from Yorba Linda, California. He is a 6’4” 246-pound strongside defensive end.
Here is something you won’t see perhaps again; he had offers from every Ivy League school. In addition, offers came from Utah State, Air Force, Hawaii, and San Jose State.
Michael is about as an aggressive defensive lineman as you will see. He is quick, using his hands and feet exceptionally to shed blockers or move around them to find the guy with the ball.
He took to Twitter to announce his commitment to the Broncos:
“First off, I want to thank everyone who has supported me every step of this process. My family, my coaches, and my friends have all been by my side throughout all the highs and lows. I’d also like to thank all the college coaches who gave me the opportunity to play for their school, but I’ve made my decision. I will be committing to Boise State University!”
247 Sports rates him a three-star recruit.
Importantly, Micheal is a good student, holding a 4.17 GPA.
Welcome to the Blue, Mr. Callahan. May your tenure at BSU be prosperous both academically and athletically—with many sacks and forced fumbles.
