A late comer to the class, Kayode Rufai spurned schools the likes of Oregon and Oregon State; verbally committing to Boise State on January 30, 2016. Rufai is an Oregon native and currently attends Lincoln High School. He had also received an offer from conference foe Wyoming.
“I’m really excited about it,” he told The Oregonian. “…it just made more sense to go to Boise State.”
The 6-foot-4 defensive end is listed as a three-star prospect on 247Sports, Rivals and a two-star on Scout.com.
He appeared to be looking forward to receiving an offer from Oregon, however late in the process they the Oregon staff told him that he would not be receiving an offer. This left him deciding between Oregon State and the Broncos. It was an easy decision.
“I like the guys at both programs. They both have great people. I just thought Boise State would be a better fit for me.”
