New Fiesta Chapter of Boise State Alumni Association in Phoenix

Listen up, you Bronco Snowbirds, who like to escape the harsh Idaho winters to the Valley of the Sun, here’s a bit of exciting news: several Broncos who call Arizona home have started a Phoenix Chapter of the Boise State Alumni Association.

Its name is the Fiesta Broncos and although it’s only weeks old, it already has 35+ members and is growing daily. The goal is to build a great connection from Arizona to Boise State while having a lot of fun doing it. Like them on Facebook – just do a search on @fiestabroncos – and stay in the loop about upcoming activities and a great opportunity to connect with more Broncos in the Phoenix area.

For starters, there are two upcoming events in March you won’t want to miss.

On Friday, March 17, you are invited attend a spring training baseball game featuring the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Seattle Mariners. Before the game, the gang is meeting at Buffalo Wild Wings next to the Salt River Fields in Scottsdale for some food, a raffle, and a no-host bar. The seats for the game are fantastic – in section 209. In the shade!

Then on Saturday, March 18, the Chapter is planning a super fun Scholarship Golf Tournament with a brand new Cadillac from Earnhardt for a hole in one prize, and amazing auction items – a basketball signed by Leon Rice, a football signed by Coach Harsin, a Larry Fitzgerald signed jersey and football, several great golf packages, and more. Dinner and golf cart are included!

If you aren’t a golfer, you can still be part of the camaraderie by just attending the dinner and taking part in the auctions. It will take place at Silverado Golf Club, which is managed by Broncos graduate Mike Elmore.

The easiest way to sign up is through the Fiesta Broncos Facebook page ( or you can visit

Both of these social fundraising events are designed to raise money to sponsor scholarships at Boise State for deserving Arizona students.
