Quentin Brown II pledged to The Blue last week, discusses his commitment

Head Coach Bryan Harsin and the Boise State football program had a great recruiting day last Sunday when they added two 3-star defenders to their 2017 recruiting class.

Quentin Brown Jr. of Conroe, TX joined follow commit Tyreque Jones in pledging to Boise at around noon MST on October 2nd.

Brown gives Boise State their second linebacker and first Sam linebacker in this years haul. I got in touch with one of the Broncos newest commits on Tuesday to see how he was feeling about one of the biggest decisions of his life.

“I love my commitment, really feel like I made the right decision,” he said. “(Boise State) has a great reputation and a winning tradition (that) I can’t wait to be a part of.”

Brown feels very comfortable about his relationship with Coach Harsin, “He’s a great man… very honest and hardworking. Our conversation assured me and my mom that he would help me develop my future and my life as a young man.”

The Texas defender is also excited to get to work with Bronco Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos, “Coach Avalos I feel is a great teacher and motivator.”

Brown said that Boise was beautiful adding that “the school has a very good kinesiology program which is what I’ll be majoring in. I researched these things before my visit and being there made it ten times better.”

The Broncos newest commit tries to model his game after Tyrann Mathieu, Eric Reid, and current Bronco linebacker Tanner Vallejo. “(Vallejo) is a beast. I didn’t get to see him play or meet him while I was on my visit but I wish I did. That man can ball.”

Brown feels he’s different than other linebacker recruits because of his “physicality… and the fact I’m super competitive.”

Brown’s team goals for his time on The Blue? “Of course championships.” He’s ready to put in the hard work that goes with winning and wants to be an All-American.
