Boise State QB Chase Cord did not play against Nevada and for good reason. The redshirt freshman quarterback tore an ACL during practice last week according to multiple reports.
Chase was used in a limited role, usually running packages.

Chase connected on 6 of 9 attempts this year, including one touchdown along with one interception. He carried the ball 8 times for 108 yards and one touchdown.
This leaves the Broncos in a precarious situation. First string quarterback Bret Rypien must now handle all the duties unless the coaching staff feels JUCO transfer and junior Jaylon Henderson has absorbed enough of the Bronco offense to give Rypien some relief.
And into the future that leaves Cord out of the mix during the important spring practice.
Thus, the Broncos must rely heavily on Henderson and freshman Riley Smith come next spring.
There is one other quarterback who appears on the roster, freshman Zack Matlock.
