Washington vs Boise State still on in 2015

The Washington Huskies have posted their 2015-2016 football schedule, and the meeting between the Broncos and Huskies is still on. Washington will travel to Boise on September 3rd or 4th to battle it out with Boise State on The Blue.

Many rumors were circulating that Washington was looking to cancel the game. No doubt in order to help Coach Pete avoid any uncomfortableness that will be present that Saturday. However, with a buyout sitting at a whopping 2 million, it is highly unlikely the game is going to be canceled.

What is sure to be an emotional return for both the fans and Coach Pete, this game will easily be the most anticipated for Bronco fans next season. Coach Petersen left the Broncos after serving as head coach for 8 incredible and memorable seasons.

While at Boise State, Petersen tallied an amazing 92-12 overall record, and an incredible 57-6 in-conference record. Petersen built a reputation on beating big name programs, such as Oregon (twice), Georgia, Virginia Tech, TCU, and the always memorable Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma. Petersen brought in two Fiesta Bowl BCS wins, and a 4-2 bowl record. The highest ranked Boise State team with Petersen was number 3 in 2010. This success made Coach Petersen one of the most sought after coaches in college football.

The Huskies currently own the series against the Broncos with a record of 2-1. The most recent contest between the two resulted in a nationally televised beating of Boise State in Seattle, with a score of 38-6. Let’s make sure that we return the favor to them next season Bronco Nation.
